20 Rep Squat Sets Suck

Heading to Brisbane with the 180 Nutrition boys this afternoon but wanted to get in a decent session this morning on a count of yesterday’s competition throwing out my training fairly massively.

The session was nothing spectacular and although I would have loved to throw around something heavy I had to train at my local box which meant no dropping, but I digress.

Session included a 20rep set of squats at 70% of my 1rm.

This can only be described as an emotional roller-coaster of pain!

Back Squat 1×20 @125kg
Work up to 70% 1rm and perform 1 set of 20

Superset 5×3
Clean Pulls @122.5kg
Weighted Ring Dips @40kg

7min AMRAP
8 KB Swings @32kg
30 double unders

Back squat sucked. The end.

Clean pulls felt good and the dips were something different but fun. The little AMRAP was ok but I paced it far to much at the start and finished with heaps left in the tank. Made sure every swing was perfect though and my body finished completely straight with the bell pointing to the ceiling.

Keen to smash a couple of little hotel gym Metcons over the next few days
